Description

Reversible seafoam green KINOKO kimono

The KINOKO kimono carries with it the gentle nostalgia of late summer. When the ocean loses its transparency, the sky veils itself in pearly gray, and the lower-angled light reveals unexpected shimmers on the surface. On a gray-green background, clouds of seafoam green flowers bloom, punctuated by tiny ochre-brown bouquets. The texture of the jacquard captures the light with that shifting subtlety found on the surface of water.

Its long sleeves end in cuffs that can be turned back to form generous turn-ups. Side ties allow the kimono to be fastened; the matching OBI belt accentuates the waist. Reversible, the KINOKO kimono offers two ways to inhabit its colors and patterns.

The CATHERINE VALENTIN fashion house designed the KINOKO kimono in a subtle balance of patterns and colors, evoking the freedom of flowing water. Its textured, brocade-style jacquard is woven exclusively by our weaver, certified as a Living Heritage Enterprise (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) in France. The kimono is then cut and made by hand, to order, in our Grenoble workshop. The development of the piece and the care taken in the finishes extend this pursuit, so that the textile truly comes to life when worn.

Several silhouettes are possible with the KINOKO kimono:

  • the black JUPI tube skirt, for a slender, graphic, and refined look
  • the black JIMA or slate gray HISHI hakama trousers for a more dynamic and fluid line.
  • layered under the black, loose-fitting YUTTARI kimono with short sleeves, worn open or closed with its side ties.

Our delivery times are between 3 and 5 weeks.

The jacquard textile is Organic and Oeko-Tex 100 certified. Composition: 20% organic cotton, 20% organic viscose, 57% recycled polyester, and 3% polyamide.
