THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Découvrez les coulisses de la fabrication CATHERINE VALENTIN : chaque kimono, hakama, jupe, manteau et accessoire est confectionné à la main dans notre atelier de Grenoble.
Nos pièces sont réalisées en petites séries, dans le respect des techniques artisanales, avec des textiles jacquard certifiés Bio et Oeko-Tex 100.
Un processus de création rigoureux, de la coupe à la finition, pour des vêtements d'exception signés CATHERINE VALENTIN, labellisée Artisan d'Art de France.
In the workshop in Grenoble
I design the patterns, cut the kimonos, make the prototypes and assemble them into unique pieces . The production of small series and capsule collections is entrusted to outstanding seamstresses in the region. To obtain perfect and almost invisible finishes , I use the assembly technique known as " English seams ", widely used by haute couture houses. It consists of turning each stitch and stitching it again. By hand , it is clean, neat, impeccable and all the kimonos become reversible thanks to this seam.

Committed to working in a short circuit to participate in reducing the carbon footprint and boosting the local economy, we have all our textiles woven in the region.
This allows us to work closely with our weavers to fine-tune the patterns, colours and threads used.
All committed to this eco-responsible approach, we obtain organic quality textiles and labeled OEKO-TEX®100 .
To go even further in the production of our kimonos and hakama pants, we only cut them to order to limit dormant and unsold stocks, and also save energy.
